The member representing Obubra II constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Honorable Elucate Okura Ekom has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Elucate defected Sunday in his hometown in Obubra local government area of central Cross River State and has been a member of the People’s Democratic Party for more than a decade where he won the elections in 2015 to represent his constituency on that platform.
Elucate’s defection follows a string of high level defections which began back in November 2015 and confirms CrossRiverWatch’s report that more people in the central will defect alongside Senator John Owan-Enoh whom they are loyal to.
He is said to have been a loyalist for years and does not see a political future except with his principal, a federal lawmaker.
His defection also comes on the heels of the defection of another aide of Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade; The Director General of the Cross River State recreational park agency, Dan Obo who told CrossRiverWatch TV that he is resigning his position after defecting to the APC to join his “political godfather.”
The former student’s leader had never shied away from telling anyone who cared that if Owan-Enoh moved to APC, he will join him.
