The country home of Mr. Mark Obi, the Special Adviser to Senator Imoke on Legal Matters at Okurushi village, Boki Local Government Area was attacked by irate youths who set it ablaze following his alleged support for a councilorship aspirant who the youths do not like.

The youths who invaded the home on Saturday evening were said to be angry that Hon. Obi is said to be backing Miss Bukky Okangbe for the position of councilor of the Okurishi Ward in Boki II in the September 21 local government election.

Mr Emmanuel Obi, elder brother to Mark Obi said his brother has been outside the country for the past two weeks and wondered how somebody who was out of the country could be held responsible for the councilorship aspiration of a person thousands of kilometers away.

“A police source told crossriverwatch that two persons, Jude Ikemba and one other youth have been arrested by the police in connection with the matter and have been transferred to the State CID headquarters in Calabar while the police are going after their accomplices”.

Several calls to the GSM phone of DSP John Umoh, the Cross River State police spokesman to confirm the arrest were not answered.
