Contrary to expectations and his earlier declaration, Prince Goddy Jedy Agba has finally accepted and filled the governorship form of Labour Party.

The form which was presented to him in his Abuja office by officials of the party from the state yesterday was also filled in his office in company of his close associates.

The Obudu Prince who still refused to comment on the development immediately left the office for the airport to travel out of the country.

He departed the Nnmadi Azikiwe international airport at 8pm last night in company of his wife and he is expected back after the yuletide season.

It is not yet clear why the Wednesday rally to welcome him and Senator Otu who has also dumped the PDP for Labour party could not hold.

  • It is a wellcome development. Atleast, there will be an election in cross river state for the first time. But if we must be fair to ourselves, let us access the two politicians- mr. Jedy and prof. Ayade, using their political profile as our yard stick. Mr jedy may be a good man;he may have the interest of the masses at the front burner of his administation by boasting the almost saturating economy of the state and giving it a first lift;but the truth of the matter remains that,he,mr. Jedy, will not be able to understand our problems as much as prof. Ayade, whose good works are very evidenced in his senetorial district. Why can’t we give him a chance to serve in this capacity as governor? Mr. Jedy is good, prof. Ayade is a better option for the state, especially, now that the state is about to face the worst economy depression ever.

  • I will vote labour party

  • When one door is shut, another opens. God speaks through His people to choose leaders. Let there be fair play and a free atmosphere devoid of rancour for the electorate to decide. Whoever emerges as true winner will carry us to another level of development. We own both the head and the tail and can jolly well make a good choice out of the two.

  • this is the beauty of democracy. it is going to be a healthy competition. let us watch out. power to the people

  • A political party is only a platform from which a politician operates. If it takes the Labour Party for the voters to get the candidate they want, so be it.
