The Special Assistant to the Cross River State Governor on Tourism, Mr. Eric Anderson on Friday forcefully broke the door and barged into the hotel room of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) Cross River State Chairperson, Monica Udofia.
The incident which happened at the Calabar Crown Hotel in Atimbo led to the invitation of the Police but CrossRiverWatch gathered that on the arrival of the Police, Anderson used his influence as aide to the Governor to evade arrest and walked away.
According to a witness, Eric Anderson had stormed the hotel where Monica and other State Chapter Chairmen of AGN who had come for a meeting in Calabar lodged.
The witness said Anderson went straight to Monica’s room (Room Delta) knocked a couple of times before finally bringing the door down.
CrossRiverWatch could not verify If Eric Anderson’s behavior was as a result of the long tussle between him and Monica over the number one seat of the Cross River State Chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
But CrossRiverWatch can authoritatively report that Monica Udofia and Eric Anderson have been involved in a long drawn war over the soul of the Actors Guild of Nigeria Cross River State Chapter since Anderson was defeated in an election held in Jevic Hotel in Febuary 15, 2014.
Anderson, who was then contesting for a second term to the helm of the Cross River Chapter of the Guild was disqualified based on “electoral misconduct”, and was subsequently suspended from the Guild in July 2, 2014 in a letter signed by the National President of the Guild, Ibinabo Fiberesima.
When CrossRiverWatch tried to reach the duo, for comments Anderson’s phone number was switched off while Monica Udofia was said to be out of town.
