    Niccygirl is right. Nigeria is actually a batrul capitalist country but with no understanding what it means. I think the contribution by niccygirl was the general trend in any Market economy. The only places where prices are regulated are North Korea, Cuba, former USSR and failed Socialist States. What a compassionate capitalist or Market economy can do is to provide social welfare or safety net for the very poor. These are often cash payments so that the recipient can use their money freely to buy as they chose but prices are never regulated!Such economies, even Ghana or South Africa, are highly competitive and treat customers with respect or they lose. Nigerians have to be led to the altar of true market economy if they are genuine about Vision 50:50! In many ways, the country already imposes aggressive deregulation in the health sector, education and in the absence of social welfare.Petrol deregulation was untimely and very costly for economic growth because of high inflation and interest rate. This will damage growth and that’s why I support the protest and Niccygirl.
