Lugano is a city in southern Switzerland, in the Italian-speaking canton of Ticino, which borders Italy. Well known for it’s very mild, almost Mediterranean like climate around the three lakes Lago Maggiore, Lago di Lugano and Lago di Como – offers a broad range of luxury real estate. The luxury property market is highlighted by sumptuous villas and few upscale penthouses. Most sought-after properties are villas with direct lake access which are very limited in its supply due to the topography
Over the past several years, Lugano gained recognition for being a strong housing market that has almost defied the global downturn and where business is booming. Strong demand for upmarket homes, partly driven by the limited supply, has propelled prices up in the past years and now remains on a stable level.
The city lies on Lake Lugano, surrounded by the mountains of the Lugano Prealps. Its warm summers and the fact that in recent years it has attracted an ever growing number of celebrities, entertainers and successful athletes have given it the nickname of the “Monte Carlo of Switzerland”
That is the kind of city that the PDP governorship flag bearer Senator Ben Ayade has promised the forlorn people of Bakassi when the party’s campaign train reached Bakassi yesterday.
As expected, Bakassi people experienced their own turn of the “Ayade English” campaign. You could see in their eyes that they needed nothing more than words of Hope and that was given to them.
The PDP flag bearer distinctively pointed out that “because of the several issues involved that I need to elucidate, I would not want to pontificate too much”.
In his words, he encouraged them “…don’t be worried by the circumstances of your birth. Don’t get worried because you were born into Bakassi and the Government and people of Cameroon have taken your land. Time has come where we shall work for you”.
He promised that when elected, He will create a housing estate, in the magnitude the Bakassi people have never seen before. In his words “It is also true that way back in the Senate I moved the very first bill, a right to housing bill providing housing for every person who is poor. I said that it is a right that If Government can come and take our values and resources, Government must provide housing for every man that is poor”.
As if he heard when the people shouted angrily “we don’t need house, we need jobs and money”. He immediately added, “We are not just going to do that. We are going to set up a construction of fabrication academy right here in Bakassi. All these our young men shall have an opportunity to be trained and by so doing, we will turn Bakassi to Lugano”.
