The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris has appointed a Cross Riverian, Mr. Adie Jeremiah Undie as the new Police Commissioner in charge of the Plateau state command of the force.
CP Undie took command of the state with effect from September 8, 2017 and replaces Mr. Peter Babatunde Ogunyanwo a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Tyopev Terna said.
He was the CP Department of Finance and Administration at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, and has served in all departments of the Nigerian Police and all the six geopolitical zones of the country before his new appointment the statement said.
Findings by CrossRiverWatch revealed that Mr. Undie hails from Ohong community in Obudu Local Government Area in northern Cross River and enlisted into the Nigeria Police as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1986.
He was promoted to the rank of CP from DCP 5 months ago alongside CP Joseph Agaji whom sources say is also from northern Cross River.
The promotion of CP Undie and CP Agaji has increased to five (5), the number of CPs from Cross River State in the Police.
