Ayade To Add 6000 Youths To Conditional Cash Scheme

By Jonathan Ugbal: Government House Correspondent

Cross River Governor, Senator Ben Ayade at the weekend announced that 6000 youths from the central and northern senatorial districts of the state will be captured under the Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) program.

The CCT is a register domiciled in the social welfare ministry with those whose names are written therein, receiving cash every month.

Mr. Ayade made the disclosure at two separate events in Ikom and Ogoja local government areas (LGA’s) last weekend where thousands had gathered at the township stadia of both LGA’s to endorse him for a second term in office where he reiterated his promise to change the lives of the people for the better.

“Upon my honor, my character, my integrity, exposure, wealth and fear of God, I will make a difference. I am going to bring prosperity and hope to these young faces,” he told an enthusiastic crowd at Ikom.

He said that 3000 youths will be included in the CCT register from the six local government areas that make up the district.

In Ogoja, he promised that the next political event will be held at the new township stadium which construction has stalled.

He further announced that the five local government areas in the district will also produce 3000 youths to be added to the register.

This brings to a total of 9000 youths Mr. Ayade says he will add to the register after announcing same figure for the seven local government areas that make up the southern senatorial district.

At the Ogoja event, Mr. Ayade commended the thousands who thronged the event for their patience and promised to deliver on his mandate.

However, he failed to declare his intention to run for a second term.
