The personnel screening exercise for civil and public servants suspended from the payroll of the Cross River Government by Governor Ben Ayade in mid 2019 will begin today.
Numbering about 3,000, some were yet to be pay-rolled and after four days of protests, Mr. Ayade promised to look into the matter.
And, a public service announcement signed by the information officer in the office of the Head of Service, Iloke Egbe, said the exercise will commence today and continue through October 9, 2020.
“Following the directives of His Excellency, the Governor Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for screening Exercise for officers suspended from the state payroll and those yet to be payrolled, the screening exercise is hereby scheduled as follows: Date: Wednesday September 30 2020 to Friday October 9 2020 except Thursday 1 October 2020 due to public holiday,” the Head of Service said.

“The affected officers are please requested to come with originals of their qualifications and appointment letters in one file and photocopies in another file. Other documents required are birth certificate, biometric form, Staff ID Card, one recent passport photograph, and one month payslip for those deactivated from the payroll.
“The affected officers are advised to take this exercise serious as failure to participate in the exercise will be deemed as rejecting the appointment.
“Please be reminded that Covid 19 protocol will be strictly observed,” the Head of Service added.
Mr. Ayade had said that their recruitment did not follow due process, a claim they denied with some displaying their employment and confirmation letters.
