Sequel to recent cases of land intrusions, the government of Cross River State has warned individuals to desist from encroaching on lands that belong to the State.
Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Cross River, Mr. Ralph Uche, in a statement obtained by crossriverwatch said, Government’s attention had been drawn to incessant encroachment on its acquired parcels of land for Agriculture and other development projects, including infrastructural facilities by unscrupulous people.
Uche, particularly warned those encroaching on the parcel of land, identified as that of Government Teachers Training College, Ikot-Ansa, Calabar as well as the adjoining portions of land to steer clear of the land in their own interest.
The commissioner noted that those who would flout the order to stop encroaching on government acquired land would be doing so at their own risk.
He described such people as those constituting themselves into ‘a clog in the wheel of progress of the rural transformational development agenda of the State Government’; warning that no matter how highly placed in the society they might be, they should desist from encroaching on government acquired land in the State.
