CNPP Calls For Declaration of Bakassi Republic

Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, CNPP, Cross River State chapter has called on the state government to support the displaced Bakassi indigenes in their agitation for a republic having been allegedly abandoned and rejected by the Nigeria government.

State Chairman of CNPP, Hon. Cletus Obun who called for the support in an interview with crossriverwatch in Calabar, the Cross River State capital said that all conditions precedent had been fulfilled for the declaration of Bakassi as a nation state going by the stipulations of international law.

The embattled Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, state chairman said that the name of the republic should be Abozomie and would comprised of three Local Government Areas of the state, Bakassi, Boki and Obanliku.
He said that the state chapter of CNPP had examined the human and natural disasters in the country in 2012 and condemned the PDP state and national government for alleged hard hearted inhuman treatment against the people of Bakassi and the flood disasters in all parts of the state.
“We examined the inhuman treatment meted out to the people of Bakassi by the federal government and the stateless, displaced and abandoned people of Bakassi and insist that the Cross River State government should support them as part of its duty to the people to declare a republic having become rejected by Cameroonians and abandoned by Nigeria.
“All conditions precedents for the declaration of a nation state have been fulfilled by international law to make the people of Bakassi, Boki and Obanliku a republic known and called Abazomie republic,” he said.
