Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the national chairman of the ruling PDP has said that all the aggrieved members of the party who are now at daggers drawn with the party are welcome back once they are remorseful.

Alhaji Tukur who was speaking in Calabar on Wednesday at the flag off of the PDP campaign for the 2013 local government election in Cross River State said the PDP is very big and it’s able to accommodate renegade members who defected but have become repentant.

He commended Governor Liyel Imoke for being outstanding and faithful to the party.

“Imoke has been able to effectively lead our party in this state to the desired height”, he said.

Tukur said because of Imoke’s leadership it has therefore not given opposition in the state any breathing space.

“In fact, I can confirm to you that in Cross River State there is no space for opposition, however, our great party the PDP is ready to reconcile with aggrieved members who may wish to come back to our fold”, he said.

Tukur urged members of the PDP to make sure the 2013 victory in the council election scheduled for September 21 supersedes the past record. “If your past victory was 56 percent make sure this time it is 78 percent.”
