The need for leaders at various levels to emulate prophet Ibrahim who fulfilled the promise he made to Allah has been advocated.
Chief Imam of the Eastern Naval Command Mosque, Calabar, Imam Muhammed Zakariyah made this admonition in Calabar during the 2013 Eid-il-Kabir celebrations.
Zakariyah said Nigerian leaders should emulate Prophet Ibrahim on sacrifice and obedience to their God with serious desire to serve the people who elected into office.
The Imam reminder the leaders to remember Allah at all times in whatever they are doing and enjoined Muslims to be good to their neighbors, irrespective of their believes and faiths.
He said Muslims should use the period of Sallah to pray for Allah to see Nigeria through all the hurdles before her particularly as the nation is preparing towards the convocation of National Dialogue to address some critical problems facing the country.
He prayed for Cross River State and its people, stressing that the peace enjoyed in the state should be emulated by others.
The Tuesday 2 Rakat prayers was observe at the Nigerian Navy parade ground Victory Base, Calabar.
