Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State today said that he has given his best and all to Cross River State in the past six years that he has been governor.

Governor Imoke who will be presenting the 2014 budget to the State House of Assembly today, took over from Donald Duke in May 2007 and was removed by the Appeal Court in July 14, 2008 for vote rigging.

He won the fresh election that was ordered by the Court and has since then run the affairs of the state without hinder.

In an update on his facebook timeline earlier today, the Governor said: “Some downtime before heading off to the State House of Assembly for the budget presentation to the “House” …..assured and at peace with my innermost self, believing that I have given my best and all, over the last 6yrs and some odd months.

“With barely 2yrs to go it’s time for deep reflection and some fine-tuning ..hopefully history will be kind to us. Knowing we gave it our best shot. And in all sincerity”.

But amongst Cross Riverians, opinion is sharply divided on what the governor’s best has yielded in terms of performance.

In a survey conducted by CrossRiverWatch, visitors were asked to simply answer the question: “How do you rate the five years of Governor Imoke’s Administration?
