Cross River State Polytechnic Commences Admission

Governor Liyel Imoke, Cross River State and Mrs. Stella Mbubaegbu CBE, Principal & Chief Executive, Highbury College, Portsmouth UK, have announced that the Institute of Technology & Management, ITM also known as the Cross River State Polytechnic Ugep is opening on 27 January 2014.

The Institute has also commenced the sale of forms for pioneer set of students to be admitted by January 2014.

According to information on the website of the school, which is an affiliate of the Highbury College in Porthsmouth, United Kingdom, the institute is seeking to recruit committed students with an entrepreneurial mind-set to commence National Diploma courses in Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Computing and Leisure and Tourism Management.

The first Post UTME exams for successful applicants held simultaneously in Calabar and Lagos on 29 November, 2nd & 3rd December 2013 while supplementary screening interviews for those who missed the initial one will be held for applicants successfully passing the Post UTME exams by 15th and 16th January 2014.

Applicants are expected to complete the application form on the school website. A fee of 8,000 Naira is payable upon application.

The Advisors insist that it is important for applicants to complete all parts of the form, meet the entry requirements and demonstrate a commitment to study.

Successful applicants will need to submit original copies of certificates and photographic ID at the screening interview.

According to information on the site, the entry requirements for the courses include:

• Five credit level passes in GCE ‘O’ Levels or the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) achieved in no more than two sittings. The five subjects must include credit level in Mathematics and English Language (not English Literature) plus credit level in any three of the following subjects: History, Government, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, English Literature, Economics, Statistics, Geography, Business Methods and Principles of Accounts.

• A UTME score of at least160.

• Successful outcomes in the Institute’s Post UTME exams in English. Mathematics and IT.
