Academic and Non Academic activities have fully resumed at both University of Calabar and Cross River University of Technology two weeks after resumption.
A CrossRiverWatch reporter who visited the two universities reports that students were seen going about their normal academic activities even as the Chairman of ASUU in University Of Calabar promised that the lecturers will make up the lost period.
The faculties visited include, Law, Management Science, Art and College of Medicine in the University of Calabar and Communication Science education in CRUTECH where most of the students who spoke with CrossRiverWatch expressed their joy and happiness for reporting back to school and continuing their academics after staying at home for six months.
A parent, Barrister Patrick Otu a retired police officer, who came to observe the situation on the campus said what he saw at the faculty of Law of the University of Calabar was commendable as students and lecturers understand the need to make up the lost months.
The Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of University, Unical Chapter, Dr. James Okpiliya urged the students to cooperate with their lecturer to meet up with lost months .Okpiliya said the lecturers are fully on ground to make up the lost period of the strike.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor James Epoke who spoke with CrossRiverWatch on phone directed this reporter to observe things for himself on the campus to know whether lectures are going on or not.
