Professionals from Cross River State under the auspices of the Conference of Cross River Professionals have said that it is time for the State’s egg heads to network and contribute to developments back home.

The group which is an informal group of professionals from various vocational endeavors and training has been meeting and networking for the common good of the state and individual members.

In a communiqué from a conference last week at O’Jez Restaurant at the National Stadium in Lagos, the professionals said they are poised to develop and sustain interest in the events and activities of Cross River State as well as “act as a pressure group with the resolve to positively impact on the lives of our various communities through different platforms such as arts, culture, media, social service, business relations and lately, politics”.

Part of the communiqué which was signed by the group’s Convener, Mr. Effiong Nyong and Secretary, Mr. Jacob Ajom and made available to CrossRiverWatch reads: “It has become very clear to us that as professionals;

“1. We cannot continue to isolate ourselves from the political and social happenings in our various communities, back home;

“2. We have also not set out to condemn all that has been done in the state since 1999

“3. We also note that even as front liners in our different professional leanings, we have either been ignored or sidelined by our own state administrations over the years and have resolved to get involved, by working with any receptive individual or group that is found to be open to ideas of opening Cross River State to fresh innovations aimed at adding value to life in our State.

“4. To embark on education and social engineering through our various individual platforms”.
