The
The “OIL MAN” Of Ikom

If you’re driving through Ikom, CRState, and happen to stop by Total Filling Station at 4 Corners to re-fuel, you are most likely to see this man, who’ll readily solicit for alms.

Like the Jamaican Reggae man of the late 70s, U-Roy, or the famed “Mountain Man” of Obudu Ranch Resort, he is dreadlocked to the shoulders. The spectacular thing about him is that, rather than use water for a bath, he always prefers to drench himself with condemned engine oil. So, I call him the “Oil man”.

The sad thing, however, is that, inspite of his state of mental health, he indulges in the consumption of weed. He’s often seen smoking big wraps of indian hemp along the streets. Incidentally, he is not alone in this way of life.

Now the poser:

What is in the mind of those who sell canabis and other hard drugs to these mentally sick people?
