Less than eighteen months to the end the Imoke administration, the Works Commissioner, Barrister Legor Idagbo has restated the State Government’s commitment to deliver on all ongoing road projects before the expiration of the this administration’s tenure by May 29, 2015.

Speaking during an inspection tour of Road projects in Calabar South and Calabar Municipality the Commissioner stated that the essence of the unscheduled inspection was to monitor and appraise the progress of work done and remind them of the ministry’s policy of reward and sanction.

While expressing satisfaction with the level of work so far, Barrister Idagbo noted that standards for which the State is noted must be conformed to while charging the contractors to work with the vision of the present administration to ensure the completion of all projects in line with specifications.

All the contractors assured the Commissioner that they will deliver their projects on agreed dates while calling on the government to live up to its promise on payment agreement.

One of the contractors who preferred anonymity reminded the state government that raining season is near and there is need for government to pay them to enable them deliver on promise.

Some of the projects inspected include ongoing road construction along Akai-Effa, airport bye-pass and Nyangasang amongst others.
