Professor Ben Ayade, the Senator representing the Northern Senatorial District of Cross River State has approved the payment of West African Examination Council (WAEC) registration fees for 300 students in both public and private schools in his Senatorial District.

Senator Ayade, who spoke through his Personal Assistant, Dr Stephen Odey said his decision to provide the free registration for that large number of students is based on the importance of education in the development of a nation and his compassion for the less privileged in our society which accounts for his regular award of scholarship and other educational assistance.

In the statement made available to CrossRiverWatch, the Senator called on schools in the senatorial district both public and private to select two best students in their schools based on the Mock Examination results of their schools to benefit from the free registration exercise.

The exercise will be co-ordinated by the Coordinating/Supervising Director, (CSD), in the Ministry of Education Zonal Directorate in Ogoja.

He accordingly advised principals of schools to pick forms at the Senator Ayade Constituency Office located at N0 10, General Hospital Road, Igoli Ogoja on behalf of their students to fill and submit within 5 days.

“Qualified students who have already paid for their WAEC registration will have their money refunded”. The statement concluded.
