The National Chairman, College of Education Academic Staff Union, COASU Dr. Emmanuel Osang has commended the Cross River State College of Education Awi/Akamkpa for being rated among the best colleges in the country by the Nigeria Commission of Colleges of Education, NCCE during its recent nationwide inspection.

Dr. Osang made the commendation at the inauguration ceremony of the new executives of the union Akamkpa chapter.

He said irrespective of the national strike he is grateful that the Almighty God has always been with the union.

The national chairman went on to enjoin the union members to abide in oneness as nothing can be achieved by being divided.

In his speech, the emeritus chairman of the union Akamkpa chapter, Comrade Agba Linus expressed gratitude to the entire members of the union for their support during his administration.

He encouraged members of the union to give his successor maximum support to enable him achieve his aspirations.

The new chairman of COASU for the college chapter, Dr. Dermot Bissong pledged to lead by example.

Dr. Bissong lauded the national chairman for gracing the inauguration accompanied by some of his national comrades.

The new exco include: Dr. Dermot Bissong – Chairman, Comrade Fred Igbo – Vice Chairman, Comrade Bassey Effiom – Secretary, Comrade Fidelis Onimna – Assistant Secretary, Dr. Sylvanus – Financial Secretary, Comrade Beatrice Arop – Treasurer, Comrade Oliver Ntui – Public Relation Officer, Comrade Patrick Eju – Welfare Officer, Comrade Patrick Nnadi – Auditor General, Comrade Bassey Enyi – Academic Board Representative 1, Comrade Godfrey Ojua – Academic Board Representative 2, Comrade Agba Linus – Ex-Officio member.
