Hon. Owan Eno Commends Abo Youths On 2nd Annual Convention

The member representing the Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. John Owan Eno has commended members of Abo Ward Youth Forum, Boki LGA, Cross River State for putting together what he called a dynamic convention.

Mr. John who gave the commendation at the second convention of the indigenous group also disclose his readiness to partner with the group to ensure that the youths of Abo ward which is the biggest in the Local Government are enlightened and get the most out of the their community.

He used the opportunity to re-affirm his interest in the Senatorial seat of the Central Senatorial district.

Honorable Eno who was represented by his personal secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Tar Ndom advised the youths not to give up hope for better days.

In his speech, the Chairman of the convention, Mr. John Abang affirmed that the Abo people are living in past glory, “We are nowhere, the political thugs we talk of are you and I, we don’t have any political leader, and we feel we are above all. We churn up graduates but where are they in value and statuesque?”

He advised the participants that to always seek the interest of their community when people call for their support “When you are called upon to support anybody first of all ask for the interest of the Abo youths before joining the train, use your mind to build the society”, he said.

Also speaking, the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN President Comrade Yakubu Shendam urged the participants to join hands together and liberate themselves. He said, “The politics here is by cartel, if you are not one of them leave it but we are going to return power to the people, the politicians we have in Boki today are rascals”.

Yakubu, a native of Boki; Bashu-Kaku village disclosed that during his election no Boki son voted nor fought for him, adding that he is ashamed of his community because according to him there is no government presence.

The Abo Ward Councilor, Mr. Douglas Oga during his remark encouraged the youths to work harder to attain unity saying “The best days of Abo is still to come, but our best work is still to be done through revitalization of our youths, the peaceful co-existence of our chiefs and leaders across communities in Abo ward.

“My leadership is concerned about improving the educational standard of Abo children and also reawaken the hopes of our vulnerable children in other to sustain their confidence and strengthen them towards hard work in their academic pursue”.

Earlier, the Abo Ward Youth Forum President, Comrade Rudolf Oga in his welcome address commended participants for turning out in large numbers to celebrate with them but promised to stop at nothing in ensuring that his tenure will leave laudable achievements behind.

As part of activities marking the convention, there were some paper presentations on relevant topics like: Maximizing the Potential of Abo Youths through Educational Awareness by Sir. Banyo Tony, Principal Ajassor Technical College; Extermination of Cult Related Activities in the Ward By Pastor Joe Abibiya of Winners Chapel Orimekpang; Effect of Premarital Sex And Early child Birth By Miss. Agatha Bessong; Youths As Agents Of Change In The Electioneering Process By Mr. Matthew Tawo and Entrepreneurship And Youth Development By Comrade Takim Eugene.
