Beatrice Jedy Agba Makes National Honors List, To Get OON

The Executive Secretary of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, and wife of Mr. Goddy Jedy Agba, Cross River frontline governorship aspirant, Mrs. Beatrice Jedy Agba has made the list of 305 Nigerians who will receive different categories of national honors this year from President Goodluck Jonathan.

Mrs. Jedy Agba, along with sixty other eminent Nigerians, will be honored with the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).

In a statement by Dr. Adeyemo, M. Tunde, a Director (Special Duties Office) in the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, The Investiture will hold by 9.00 a.m. on Monday, September 29th, 2014 at the International Conference Center, Abuja.

It will be recalled that Mrs. Jedy Agba was earlier in the year named the 2104 Trafficking in Persons Hero by the American Government and the award was presented to her by the United States Secretary of State, Mr. John Kerry at the US State Department in Washington.

While giving her the award, the American Government described Mrs. Jedy Agba as “one of the 10 notable persons globally, who despite resistance, opposition and even threats to their lives, protect victims, punish offenders and raise awareness of ongoing criminal practices in their countries and beyond.”
