The continuous onslaught on Christian communities and churches in the North Eastern part of Nigeria has rendered many Christians homeless, thereby making them refugees in their own country.
The Executive Secretary of the humanitarian arm of the Catholic Church in Nigeria, Catholic Caritas Foundation, Reverend Father Evaristus Bassey stated this while briefing journalists in Calabar.
He called for support from all Nigerians for the victims of insurgency in the North East, saying most of the Christian victims are homeless in the region.
He stressed the need for Nigerians to adjust their lifestyles to reflect on the present circumstances in the country.
According to the Catholic youth cleric, Boko Haram has taken over homes of most people living in the North East thereby forcing them to live on hills and mountains.
He expressed displeasure at the attitude of some Nigerians towards the ongoing crisis in some part of the North East, pointing out that it has become normal daily narratives.
He commended the Military for the effort made so far in their war against the insurgents.
