Boarder communities in Biase, Obubra, Boki and Obudu Local government areas of Cross River state have called on government to provide them with more security and other social amenities in the Area.
Representatives of the communities spoke with journalists when the Cross River State Boarder Community Development Commission led by its Chairman, Ogban Ebok inspected government intervention projects in their Areas.
The Village Head of Agwagunne, Chief James Eja said the effort of the State government in providing water, schools and security post for the community was commendable.
He urged the government to intensify more effort to open the agrarian community to the world through motorable roads.
On his part a youth leader in Obubra, Emmanuel Gade said employment opportunities for youths in the area is essential, stressing that what government has done by providing education, health and water was a welcomed development.
The Director General of the State Boarder Agency, Mr. Ogban Ebok, while responding to the communities visited pleaded with them to take ownership of government projects in their domains.
He promised that doing so will make government to do more. He said all the issues raised have been noted, and assured them that government will continue to do its best within the available resources.
