The Cross River State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ntufam John Okon, has warned that the Party leadership in the state will disqualify any aspirant who refuses to play according to the rules.
Ntufam Okon who handed down the warning at the state party’s secretariat Calabar, at the occasion of the formal declaration of interest to contest for the governorship position in 2015 by Chief Fidelis Ugbo, said that the Party will not hesitate to disqualify any aspirant who will want to have his/her way through violence.
The Cross River state PDP Chairman further re-affirmed that the governor of Cross River State come 2015 will be a man or woman of northern senatorial district extraction, but that who God has ordained, will emerge, through the robust internal democratic structure in which the party has labored to build and institutionalized.
Ntufam John Okon who also stressed the need for all aspirants to conduct themselves in accordance with the party’s guidelines and institutional framework, explained that the timetable was out and that collection of nomination form has been fixed for October 27, 2014.
