The scheduled opening of campaign office for the formal commencement of state wide activities by one of the top five governorship aspirants who emerged from the PDP caucus screening in Cross River, Mr. Fidelis Ugbo has been postponed.
A statement from the Ugbo campaign group say the event which was scheduled for tomorrow Thursday November 13, 2014 has been postponed indefinitely.
“All stakeholders, supporters and well-wishers of Ntufam Barr Fidelis Ugbo gubernatorial aspiration are hereby informed that the scheduled rally and official opening of the Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo Campaign office on Thursday 13th November, 2014 has been indefinitely postponed.
“Consequently, a new date will be announced in due course. Thank you as you remain steadfast towards the actualization of our collective mandate. We regret any inconvenience caused as a result of the postponement.” The statement reads.
An earlier statement from the group had announced that supporters and well wishers of the Ugbo project were expected to converge at the campaign office by 2pm, on Thursday for the commencement of the opening ceremony of the event.
The Statement said, Mr. Fidelis Ugbo was expected back in Calabar from Abuja alongside the governor of the State, Senator Liyel Imoke and other members of his entourage and were to be received at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport for onward procession to the U.J Esuene Stadium where Governor Imoke was scheduled to address the Peoples’ Democratic Party faithfuls on the way forward for the party.
CrossRiverWatch also gathered that one of the aspirants for the governorship seat and former Special Adviser to governor Imoke on Investment Promotion who was screened out by the party caucuses, Mr. Gerald Adah, has collapsed his campaign structure into Ugbo’s and was also billed to be present at the declaration.
