Despite the repeated claims by government at all levels that the people of Bakassi have been resettled and the Cross River State Government position on the issue which now revolves around payment of compensation by the federal government in perpetuity to the state, CrossRiverWatch visited the Bakassi Resettlement Camp at St. Mark Primary and Secondary School, Ikot Eyo Edet in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, and the stories as always, are gory tales and lamentations of a people denied of their homeland by the whims of international politics, abandoned by their own government and left to the vagaries of fate.
