Report coming out from the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency say that there was actually no contest in yesterday’s primaries in the constituency.
This is because the people of the area decided to settle for a consensus candidate in the person of Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe for the House of Representatives slot for the area.
Sources told CrossRiverWatch that the other aspirant, Timmy Tom decided to bow to pressure and intimidation from the governor who told him to avoid bloodbath in the area by peacefully stepping down and allow Jarigbe to emerge the PDP flag bearer unopposed.
CrossRiverWatch equally gathered that in the same vein, the governor has concluded arrangements to see to the emergence of the former Minister, John Odey as the PDP flag bearer for the Northern Senatorial District of the state, just as Prof. Ben Ayade is now the anointed aspirant of Senator Imoke for the gubernatorial position.
