“In the calisthenics of life, in the sequence of events, sometimes people do not realize that there is a relationship between success and failure” says Senator Ben Ayade, Cross River State PDP gubernatorial candidate at his party’s campaign rally in Okpoma, Yala local government area.
Senator Ayade quickly added “But for any success to be successfully successful, the source of the success must be successfully secured. That security lies in your education” drawing cheers from the crowd who had been waiting for over eight hours for the arrival of the PDP chieftains.
He then spoke in Pidgin “wetin I dey try talk be say mek una go skool. That skool na him mek poor person like me begin dey talk like dis ooo.
“Me I don carry banana dey sell for skool as my pipul bin say skool fees no dey. I say na lie, I must go skool. So as I stand today una hear as my oga (Liyel Imoke) describe me tell una all.
“It is the product of hardwork, intellectual capacity, the ability to rise above the challenges of my time so, I want to encourage you, if poor man like me come rise come reach where dem wan give me governor, you too can become a governor.”
Senator Ayade then handed over the microphone but was re-invited by Governor Liyel Imoke who yielded to the supporting crowd’s demand for more of Ayade’s oratorical prowess.
Collecting the microphone from Governor Imoke the Senator thrilled the crowd once more with an uncompleted statement “The socio-anthropological concept of life…..” before laughing off and returning the microphone to Imoke.
The campaign rally which began yesterday in Ogoja will continue tomorrow in Bekwarra local government with governor Imoke urging all to come with their dictionaries to the campaign venues.
