The Obudu born Professor and Senator representing Cross River Northern Senatorial District who also is the governorship flag bearer of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for the 2015 general election in Cross River, Senator Ben Ayade yesterday declared an end to the sufferings of Obudu people to the delight of an ecstatic crowd that gathered at the Chief J.A. Agba memorial stadium in Obudu.

Filled with satisfaction over the manner, disposition and the massive turn out of his people to welcome him, he could not control his excitement as he announced the end of perils in Obudu.
In his words ” Kugbudu, Kingie Kimen Kimbe ” which means, “Obudu, your suffering has ended”.

The Senator traced his antecedents and acknowledged the fact that he is aware of the challenges faced by his people. He further stressed that the mandate given to him is the mandate of Obudu people.

CrossRiverWatch gathered that, in a resolve to demonstrate total support for their son, all the villages in Obudu had summoned all and sundry the previous day with their native drums and announced the expected arrival of ‘their son’ in their respective play grounds and barred anyone from either going to the farm or opening the markets or shops but to all throng the stadium to welcome the governorship hopeful.

Consequently, the people of Obudu in an obvious show of solidarity flooded the Chief J.A. Agba’s memorial stadium and waited from morning till late in the evening when the Senator’s entourage arrived from Bekwara LGA where he had earlier gone to campaign.
