Candidates of the Labour Party in the northern senatorial district yesterday took their campaign to Obudu local government area to canvass for votes.
The campaign train included Julius Okputu, the Senatorial candidate, Godwin Amanke, candidate for Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku federal constituency in the National Assembly and Godwin Akwaji, candidate for Obudu state constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly.
At Mbeneghe, Utugwang the Senatorial candidate urged those present not to be fooled by the antics of the party which wants to foist weak representatives on the people to verify their claim that Northern Cross Riverian’s were foolish.
“Our mumu don too much, are they trying to tell us that we are foolish? Of course that is how they see us that is why they present a candidate we cannot see.
“I share the same story with Godwin Akwaji and Godwin Amanke, there must be an equitable balance, a balanced equation for peace to reign and it is on these that Labour Party stands, so come out and vote for the party that truly cares.” He said.
The candidate for Obudu constituency in the State House of Assembly, Godwin Akwaji reiterated his colleague’s position urging all to collect their permanent voters card, PVC to vote the Labour Party as it was a vote for humanity.
Earlier the Labour Party candidate for Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku federal constituency questioned the eligibility of the People’s Democratic Party candidate, Legor Idagbo whose primaries he said contravened the electoral act.
The train led by Honorable Udie Mike had earlier visited the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Obudu, Uti J.D Agba to inform and present to him their candidates for his blessings before proceeding to Mbeneghe village in Utugwang and Atiekpe village both in Obudu local government area.
