TechCamp West Africa 2015 recently hosted 100 best and brightest private and social entrepreneurs from across the African continent to focus on entrepreneurship as a contributor to job creation.
The annual gathering which held from 6th to 8th of February in Accra, Ghana, saw attendees from Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Liberia, and Togo.
Amongst the attendance were CrossRiverWatch’s Frank Edima and Inah Okon both from Cross River State.
Opportunities were given to country teams to present technology based solutions to indigenous challenges.
Team Nigeria took the lead as they aimed to solve agricultural challenges across the nation through ICT.
The U.S. Ambassador to Ghana, Gene A. Cretz, who was at the event, acknowledged the solution and pledged support during execution.
It was a highly interactive learning experience that combined technology-led hands-on training sessions, break-out segments and entrepreneur panels in an unconventional conference-like
setting.
Team Nigeria left Accra Airport by 5:45pm on 9th February, 2015. Participants pledged to keep the flag flying in their various communities.
