In a bid to stem the growing tide of electoral violence in Cross River State, an association known as the Cross River State Concerned Youths (CRSCY) is organizing a one day sensitization rally on the issue.

The sociopolitical group made this known in a release signed by the Coordinator, Richard Romanus and Secretary, Effiong Archibong and made available to CrossRiverWatch.

The rally tagged “Peaceful rally for a peaceful election” is scheduled for March 21, 2014 at the Ikom Township stadium.

According to the release, the peaceful rally “will also feature paper presentations by various guest speakers to further sensitize the youth on the role they ought to play towards deepening democracy and achieving a free, fair, credible and above all a violence free election rather than been exploited by mischievous elements for destructive purposes”.
