Following the directive of the AIG Zone 6 Calabar, Mr. Tunde Ogunshakin, to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of the Federal Housing Police Division, Supol Ezenwerem Mike to produce Mr. Elewana Godwin of River Basin Authority, 8 Miles Calabar, who is alleged to have killed Master Douglas Oga Ojugbo, the DPO swiftly swooped on the suspected murderer and he is currently in Police custody CrossRiverWatch has gathered.
Mr. Elewana, since last month has been at large with his weapon, after the police mounted a manhunt for him for allegedly shooting the boy over a relationship with his daughter.
The deceased, a 22 year old son of a lawyer with Kanu G. Agabi & Associates, Mr. Oga Ojugbo, was on March 10, 2015, allegedly shot in the leg twice by Mr. Elewana who left him to bleed and die and drove his body to the federal housing police station, labelled the deceased armed robber and connived with the DPO of the Federal Housing Police Division to hurriedly bury the corpse.
Mr. Elewana was said to have been enraged by Master Ojugbo’s repeated visits to his home to see his teenage daughter despite his warning to the boy never to step his feet in his compound again.
Efforts by CrossRiverWatch to get information about the progress of investigation from the Zone 6 Public Relations Officer has not been fruitful. A recent visit by our reporter to his office still did not yield any answers he refused to confirm or deny whether Elewana was in custody but an impeccable source in the Zone 6 command told our reporter that Mr. Elewana was arrested the following Monday after the AIG directed the Federal Housing Division DPO to produce him. He confirmed that the suspected murderer has since been in detention in Zone 6 and assured that when investigation is over, the police we will charge him to court accordingly.
