The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Cross River State, Ntufam John Okon has said that the former Group General Manager, Crude Oil Marketing Department, GGM, COMD in the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, and former governorship aspirant of the party, Prince Goddy Jedy Agba provided most of the funds the party used for campaign in the just concluded elections in the state.

Jedy Agba who stepped down from the guber race for the now governor elect, Senator Ben Ayade, was later made the Chairman of the Finance Committee of the PDP Campaign Organization in the state, with a mandate to raise funds for the campaign.

While addressing journalists in the PDP secretariat yesterday, the party chairman commended the Obudu Prince for demonstrating exemplary leadership my humbling himself and returning to the party even after losing out in the governorship race.

“By God’s grace, Jedy Agba after spending so much and so on, I must give glory to him, put it on record, people pleaded with him and he came back to the family. We were having meetings with him, he was supposed to be governor.

“I can assure you that most of the resources was by him but he humbled himself and came back to the state for the interest of the state. He said his brother will become a governor and he came and worked with us, were you not seeing him in the meeting with us? Did we reject him?” The chairman asked.

It will be recalled that Jedy Agba’s governorship ambition locked horns with Senator Imoke’s choices and left the party deeply divided. Even after dumping his governorship race and returning to the party, it is still arguable if the party has recovered from the bruises.
