Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has called on the business community in the country to take full advantage of the economic revolution that is about to sweep the entire landscape of the state and key into the signature projects earmarked by his administration.
Ayade made the call during the investiture of the 18th National President of Nigerian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Chief Bassey Edem and End of Conference Dinner of the association in Calabar, Thursday.
While enlisting the partnership of investors, Governor Ayade assured: “We have great opportunities for investment here in Cross River State. The cocoa farms must come to life, our rice production must spring to life, we have a dual carriage super highway and a sea port being proposed, all of these are investment opportunities that I urge you to key into for mutual benefits”
Ayade who praised NACCIMA for the recognition given to Chief Edem, added that “making our son and one of the best brains the President of NACCIMA gives us the opportunity to explore the potentials that exist in this great association and it is my strong hope that Chief Edem in his tenure, will attract prosperity to NACCIMA and take it to an enviable height.
“I congratulate NACCIMA on making one of our brightest and most brilliant, a hardworking man, a professional par excellence, a man with the fear of God and favorable disposition to human beings as President. It is also my strong conviction that this opportunity provides for him a rare privilege to showcase himself for higher national assignment.”
President, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Dr. Frank Jacob, who represented the National Vice President East, Mrs. Ekama Akpan, lauded the effort of the association in growing businesses over the years.
He maintained that “the role and contributions of NACCIMA in the industrial growth of the country over the years cannot be overemphasized.”
He pointed out that the association has tirelessly contributed to the development of enterprises in the country and it has undoubtedly encouraged the entrepreneurship that has translated into tangible socio-economic development of the country in job creation and poverty amelioration.
He promised to sustain the mutual partnership that has existed between the duo for the overall benefit of the citizenry.
In his acceptance speech, the 18th National President of Nigerian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture(NACCIMA), Chief Bassey Edem, lauded the numerous achievements of his successor and promised to work harder to widen the horizon and take NACCIMA to its rightful place in Nigeria’s business environment with a view to creating a very healthy and conducive business environment.
His words: “My mission for this two years as the President of NACCIMA is to take it to its rightful place as the apex body for all business associations in the country, and ensure the development and promotion of all matters affecting business in the country among others.”
