Seaport Will Generate In Excess Of 300Billion For Cross River – Governor Ayade

Cross River State governor, Senator Ben Ayade, has said that the proposed state owned seaport in Calabar, when completed, will generate in excess of three hundred billion Naira for the State annually.

The Governor who promised to appoint a transaction adviser for the project after his return from his oversea trip added that the seaport design is at advanced stage and work is expected to begin on the project by October 2015.

He told CrossRiverWatch that “Tentatively, by 15th of this month, I should have the feasibility report on the project. By October, we should begin the actual construction of the seaport.

“The cost of the project is quite high but on completion, the seaport will generate in excess of three hundred billion for the State in revenue.”

Governor Ayade assured Cross Riverians that he is working in synergy with the federal government and was optimistic that the Buhari administration was prepared to work with the state government to actualize his developmental plans.
