Her name is Uduak, and it is a name that means “Resolve” from Akwa Ibom State in Nigeria.
She is a Minister, recording artiste, author, composer, researcher, speaker and development practitioner.
Uduak Daniel is poised to release her third album in Calabar: a package that is loaded with melody, inspiration and power. Its contemporary gospel laced with Jazz and Soul and down home grooves written by Uduak, produced by Opubo Braide.
Her extraordinary versatility positions her as an “eclectic” brand in the music world. Her life and music are influenced by her crusading passion for souls.
She deliberately and artfully weaves the word (gospel) into her music. And what you see is a creative blend of the pulsating African rhythm and the classic flavor of soul: a marriage of inter-continental “tangs” of tunes.
Uduak Daniel……. is simply hypnotic!
Her first 3 singles are On Top, Nkong Nkan Abasi and Colors.
On top is a bold call and response style reminiscent of the her native roots that inspires the listener to never ever give up. No matter what your on top.
Nkong Nkan Abasi is an Ibibio song of worship using the language of a large tribe based in Akwa Ibom State in the South South of Nigeria. Particularly poignant is the use of traditional flutes and ululation.
Colors is a jazz inspired chill tempo introspective song that asks you to ask yourself a few questions about what you really see in the world.
Her self titled third album will be released in June. visit www.uduakdaniel.com
