The Speaker Cross River State House of Assembly (CRSHA), Hon. John Gaul Lebo has said that it is constitutional and statutory for local government councils, Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s) in the state to submit their income and expenditure profile to the house for the relevant committee to peruse.

He made the remark today during the third plenary session of the Assembly when five Local Governments Areas in the state submitted their income and expenditure profile to the House.

He further told the members that the documents which are meant for study “should not beautify your office, read them”, he asserted.

The motion for the adoption of the income and expenditure profile by the House was moved by the Leader of the House, Hon. Moses Ushie of Obanliku state constituency while the Chief Whip, Hon. Ephraim Okon seconded the motion.

Below is a list of the local governments and the period within which they submitted their profile:

Bakassi submitted for October – December 2014 and January – March 2015

Ikom put forward December 2014

Obubra presented that of July – August 2014

Etung gave that of January – June 2014

Obanliku tendered May – July 2014 and August – December 2014

The House is yet to deliberate on the profiles received as members were only given copies to go and study.
