The Editor of CrossRiverWatch, Mr. Solomon Asha has stepped down from his position following his appointment as Special Assistant on Media/Publicity to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade.

Mr. Asha, a journalist with over thirteen years experience was also a staff of the state owned Nigerian Chronicle before taking over the mantle of leadership at CrossRiverWatch.

The Obudu born pen pusher who has been on the saddle at CrossRiverWatch for 14months said he considered his appointment by the governor as an opportunity to serve the state and will not hesitate to take it and contribute his quota to the development of the state.

A statement from the Deputy Managing Director of CRWatch Resources, Publishers of CrossRiverWatch, Mr. Charley Ofem, said that: “Mr. Asha has been formally relieved of his duties at CrossRiverWatch so that he can concentrate on his new role as Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross River State. Though it was a very painful decision to let him go, we consider his new role as an opportunity to take his experience to bear and help in advancing the cause our state.

“Mr. Asha was our third editor. The first editor was ground breaking. He strived gallantly to position the organization at a time when we were still ignored. The second editor took over at a time when we were being challenged. He took the jabs and flaps from some authority figures in the state who always wanted us to be suffocated and the reign of Mr. Asha was a period of consolidation.

“His reign brought astronomical growth to the organization which was a reflection of his leadership and managerial prowess and we will greatly miss him for the period he will be away. But we are consoled by the fact that what he is living us to go and do is still part of our overall objective, which is to get our state out of the information doldrums. The management and entire Team CRWatch wish him all the best in his new responsibility.”

The statement added that the company will announce a new Editor in due course.
