Coalition of Civil Society Groups in Nigeria, CCOSGIN yesterday in Calabar accused the political class in the state of orchestrating activities that are aimed at sabotaging the anti corruption war of President Mohammadu Buhari.

The coalition raised the alarm while briefing journalists in Calabar saying, “We have observed with keen interest the intension/activities of some institutions and political class in Cross River State geared towards sabotaging the efforts of our dear President, General Mohammed Buhari in the anti-graft war in the country”.

The group maintained that President Buhari has shown himself as a man of the people of Cross River State by appointing a Chief of Naval Staff from the state for the first time in the history of the state, thereby making Cross River a stakeholder.

The National President of CCOSGIN, Comrade Iso Bassey Edim, while speaking, called for transparency in the judiciary in the fight against corruption, “We note that the wind of change and anti-corruption is touching the nooks and crannies of our socio-political frames. It is our position that our patrimony which was looted, scandalized and submerged in murky waters by political class would eventually be liberated by the judiciary”.

The group ended by calling on Cross Riverians and Nigerians at large to give massive support to the President of the country by joining voices in the fight against corruption and indiscipline especially as it concerns Cross River State.
