The camping exercise for the Obudu Face of Culture (FOC) has begun with outgoing Queen Evelyn Ugbaka tutoring the contestants on certain standards CrossRiverWatch authoritatively reports.
The camp which currently has eleven contestants is expected to terminate shortly before the event scheduled for the Obudu new yam festival day with the outgoing Queen Evelyn Ugbaka schooling them on certain cultural heritage and values.
Ugbaka says educating the contestants is part of her project and will aid them better appreciate culture with the hope of educating the society at large whether they emerge winners or not.
She also lectured on queenly characteristics, giving tips on how to talk, behave, engaging in conversations and acting in front of the judges.
On makeup she urged the contestants to appear almost natural saying “Make your hair nice and natural, not curled and pulled and sprayed to death, have an easy look, have a natural face” before adding that “just make it look as though you are not wearing a makeup”.
She advised the eventual winner not to forget her culture and tradition also urging those who will lose out not to lose faith as she contested thrice before succeeding.
