Ayade Suspends Permanent Secretary Over Directive Stopping Prayers In Schools, Sets Up 3 Man Committee To Investigate Her

Governor Ben Ayade has directed the immediate suspension of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs. Anne Odey, over the stoppage of morning devotion in secondary and primary schools in the state.

To this end, a 3 man committee to be chaired by the SSG has been set up to investigate the matter.

The alleged directive stopping prayers in schools in the State came from the Police Commissioner in Cross River, Henry Fadairo.

Governor Ben Ayade did not issue any form of directive stopping prayers in public/private schools in the state.

Investigations revealed that Mrs. Odey got the directive from the Police Commissioner in the state and acting on it without clear authorization from her direct boss, the Head of Service of the State.

Governor Ben Ayade is a devoted Christian and a God fearing person who knows and understands the importance of prayers.

His Excellency, the governor cannot in any way impede the important role prayers play in our lives as a people.

Governor Ayade emergence today as governor of Cross River State is premised on the importance of prayers.

It is also very important to state here that some online mediums that use their platform to spread this falsehood are not helping to develop our dear state.

The peddling of falsehood and wrong information will not help foster the desired development we seek in our state.

Nation building is a collective effort so we must all join hands to build a better Cross River State under Governor Ben Ayade.
