CrossRiverWatch has been awarded “Best Online Media of the Year 2015” by Mountain Cinema Nigeria, MCN.

The award which was presented to CrossRiverWatch by the management of Mountain Cinema Nigeria in her head office No. 2 Ndidem Usang Iso road, (Marian Road) Calabar bears the inscription “In recognition of your dedication to the development of the media, this remains the information reservoir in Cross River State and beyond”.

The Managing Director, Mountain Cinema, Francis Akpeke while handing over the award said CrossRiverWatch has bridged the information gap that had kept the State backwards for decades.

He maintained that “If not for the selfless services rendered by CrossRiverWatch by now Cross River State would not be heard anywhere”.

Akpeke enjoined all and sundry to join hands with the first online media platform in the State to build a better Cross River and open it to the world.

Responding, the Editor-In-Chief of CrossRiverWatch, Comrade Agba Jalingo lauded the group for recognizing the contributions of the platform to opening up the State to the rest of the world by telling the Cross River narrative from a home grown perspective.

Agba who was represented by Archibong Jeremiah maintained that: “It wouldn’t have been possible to achieve the strides CrossRiverWatch have if there is no followership from the public. You and every other person in Cross River, be it indigene or non indigenes, are the ones that have kept us where we are by simply visiting our site regularly and having confidence in our reportage”.

He pledged that nothing shall stop the platform from remaining the touch bearer nor deter it from doing its job professionally.
