Officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Cross River State command, Thursday aided the evacuation of an industrial cement mixer which fell off a vehicle transporting it along the busy Marian Road (Ndidem Usang-Iso road) in Calabar.
The mixer which was been transported in a small vehicle fell off and crashed loudly on the road causing momentary panic and causing traffic gridlock around the vicinity at about 3:50 pm.
The FRSC officials came in about 7 minutes later and aided in controlling traffic with the owners of the mixer calling in a larger truck to tow it to the intended location.
About 45 minutes later, the mixer was fastened to the truck which drove off much to the joy of businesses around especially those closing early as it was close to rush hour time when the gridlock becomes the order at the ever busy road.
