The coming ng of President Muhammadu Buhari to Flag off the 260kilometre super highway by Governor Ben Ayade has been described as a major event that will silence PDP in Cross River State.

A Calabar bases human right lawyer, Barrister Utum Eteng made the attribution during a chat with newsmen on the new political developments in the state.

Eteng who said the coming of President Buhari to the state in an official capacity was a technical message to the government and People of Cross River State to embrace change.

He said the leadership of the state PDP led by Governor Ben Ayade is dancing to the All Progressives Congress (APC) drum of Change.

He urged the governor to “make hay while the sun shine” by keying into the federal government agenda early to drive maximum benefits for Cross Riverians.

“I’m alive to see the two; the man who came as somebody but was treated as nobody during his campaign to Cross River but today he was ‎being given a heroic welcome as President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“It shows that one needs to be careful how public office should be handled. A man who came to Cross River State for campaign and was denied the use of the stadium, Cultural Centre and other big places built with public funds and reduced to a small primary school ‎is now the man everybody is struggling to identify with, that alone is a lesson and philosophical.

“Perhaps for the first time, I want to commend Governor Ayade for the befitting welcome he gave to the President and for making Cross River a proud State.

“His (President Buhari) visit was a very technical message passed to Cross Riverians. The significance is that Cross River should navigate their political identity towards the President ‎and enjoy the benefits of the central government.

“Cross Riverians should collapse to APC and Governor Ayade should stop sitting on the fence and identify his political party toward the Change Identity ‎.This is the first State the President visited officially since he became the President, so it is a clear message ‎.

“If a man beats the drum for you, show him appreciation by dancing and in this case, I see Ayade dancing to the APC drum of Change and he and his PDP structures can only dance by subtly but promptly navigating themselves to the side of the President. This is because I can tell you that PDP is dead and APC has taken over in this country and same in Cross River.” He said‎.
