Former Deputy Governor of Cross River state, Late Dr. Matthias Oko Offoboche, will begin his final journey home on the 30th November 2015, with the arrival of his corpse from the United States of America, where he died.
According to a statement by his first son, Prof. Oko Offoboche on his facebook timeline, after the arrival of the corpse at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from the USA, there will be a church service at the Holy Trinity Abuja same day. The body will be lying-in-state at his Abuja residence after the mass.
The body will depart Abuja for Calabar, the Cross River State capital on the 1st of December 2015.
The State Executive Council will hold a valedictory session in honor of the former deputy governor same day, 1st December 2015 in Calabar, after which another mass will be held for him at the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Calabar, same day.
The body will then depart Calabar for Ogoja on 2nd December 2015 for another mass at The Catholic Cathedral, Ogoja same day.
He is to be laid to rest on the 3rd of December, 2015 at the Garden of his residence in Ijaja Estate, Offoboche Village, Okuku in his home town of Yala L.G.A.
Dr. Mathias Offoboche, a Specialist Gynaecologist, was former Deputy Governor of Cross River State from 1979-1983 and was also a delegate to the National Political Reform Conference in 2005.
