The Cross River State Social Housing Scheme Law 2015 which has been consented to by the State Governor Senator Ben Ayade has been described as a legislative blue print to help achieve the 5000 housing units project proposed by the Governor and other infrastructural developmental plans.
The assertion was made by Hon. Idagu Agaji, Chairman Cross River State House of Assembly Committee on Works, Infrastructure, Lands and Housing who also sponsored of the bill.
While speaking with our House of Assembly Correspondent recently, the Bekwarra State Constituency representative maintained that the rationale behind the bill is to nurse and provide low income houses for Cross Riverians that are low income earners.
He further revealed that, “I also support the Bekwarra language in the media by paying those who translate the news in Bekwarra language because for some time the State Government has not been responsible for their payment.
“I promote education by supporting indigent children through scholarship and grant, I have been supporting Bekwarra Students Union by placing them on monthly stipend both the national body and the UNICAL Chapter since I came to this office; I also provide transport subsidy during close of semester for my Bekwarra students”.
He assured that his committee is committed to work with the Governor on his agenda which is targeted at making life better for Cross Riverians.
After commending the idea of the super high way, Idagu averred that the economic benefits of the super high way cannot be over emphasized.
In conclusion he called on all and sundry to support the 8th Assembly and the Ayade led government to make things better.
