Cross River State Governor, Senator Ben Ayade has created an access way on a popular hide out for robbers in Calabar, as part of his effort to re beautify the city.

The street, Okoro Agbor, situated along Ndidem Usang Iso, Calabar, has over the years harbored criminals who took advantage of the bushy area to hide after carrying out nefarious activities within and outside the metropolis.

Speaking at the construction site, Cross River Commissioner for works, Engineer Daniel Osim-Asu affirmed that creating an access way in the area which served as a den of robbers could not have come at a better time, than now, for the benefits of the citizens.

“Following the governor’s directives on zero potholes in town and intervention on streets, we are embarking on 24 hours work on site.” Osim-Asu said, adding that, “the road will be asphalted with total intervention to ensure the people have a lease of life”.

Osim-Asu who disclosed that the road would be nylon tarred with cat eyes introduced along the carnival route, also explained that his Ministry is ready and committed to the delivery of the mandate.

Answering questions on the funding source to carry out the directives in view of the lean resources available to the state, the works Commissioner said “it is about the will to do it,” assuring that where there is a will there is a way “.
